It won't stop raining here...ever...this is one from the archive. Unlike other resources such as precious metals, petroleum and patience, it seems there is an endless supply of the wet stuff!!

  3. What were you saying—about the lack of humour in art? This brought a smile to my face!!

  4. Fantastic! I've been viewing/watching these creations with interest. I can't help but think that a whole exhibition of these would make for a very interesting and surreal visit to an art gallery..

I look forward to seeing more!

  5. I like the fact that the movement is restricted to a very small area of the picture - which forces a quick double take - a bit like the first time you see one of those human statues.

PS: It's no better weather wise at the north end of Cumbria either. I swore I wouldn't dip into my holiday photos - but sometimes the archive seems the only way to make progress

  6. Vicki, finding small 'human' moments within a picture postcard like this would be quite good fun I think, I'm sure there would be quite a lot of humour in observing people's behaviour.

Hi incidentalthings - Lucy? Lucy from Liverpool study visit? Nice to meet you if it is, was you...gallery, maybe...looking at the artists on Saturday, they are not afraid to use technology in presenting their work, so why not!!

Nigel, yes, that's why I'm not sure if they would or would not work as a series because as a one-off, it throws you...as a series you expect it.

...and the weather, well honestly...Cumbrians are supposed to hardy to rain, but this is beyond a joke!!

  7. It just seems so incongruous for the van to be there. Are they dustbins in front of the gate?. I want this image to be much, much bigger so that I can have a look at those people and maybe have a chat with them. Ice cream on a rainy day? Oh No! I'd much rather have a hot dog.
